Write for Us

Have real-world SEO or web performance lessons? Let's publish them.

We built OneClickSEO with a simple goal in mind: technical SEO doesn't need to be overcomplicated. Between our free Chrome extension and audit tool, we help thousands of developers, SEO specialists, and store owners diagnose site ranking issues every day.

To keep this community growing, we publish direct, zero-fluff guides, and we're looking for experienced practitioners, developers, and writers to share their real-world lessons with us. If you have a practical process, case study, or optimization workflow, we'd love to share it with our readers.

Why Write for Us?

We know writing takes time and effort. Here is what we offer our contributors:

  • Reach an Engaged Audience: Your article will be read by developers, agency owners, and SEO specialists who actually build and optimize websites.
  • Full Author Credit: Every piece includes a dedicated author bio where you can introduce yourself and link back to your personal website or portfolio.
  • Share Genuine Lessons: We care about hands-on experience. If you solved a tricky crawling bug or sped up a slow Shopify store, this is the place to talk about it.
  • Social Amplification: We actively share our best articles through our newsletter and social feeds to help expand your professional reach.
  • No Vague Gatekeeping: You don't need a massive social media following or years of agency experience to write for us. We care about the value of your insights.

Topics We Cover

We focus on actionable, technical content. Here are the core areas we cover:

  • Technical SEO: Real-world guides on crawl blocks, sitemaps, robots.txt setups, canonical tags, and redirects.
  • On-Page SEO: Practical tactics for meta tags, logical heading structures, internal linking, and search intent.
  • Schema & Structured Data: How-tos on custom JSON-LD configurations, rich results, and troubleshooting schema errors.
  • Website Performance: Improving Core Web Vitals, speed audits, image compression, and optimization checklists.
  • Accessibility & SEO: Making websites inclusive (WCAG basics, semantic HTML) and how it improves rankings.
  • AI & Search: How AI Overviews, generative search behaviors, and LLMs are changing the SEO landscape.
  • Ecommerce SEO: Optimizing online store product pages, clean category structures, and shop-specific audits.
  • SEO Workflows & Tools: Step-by-step workflows, tool comparisons, automation scripts, and case studies.

* If you have a practical topic that doesn't fit these categories perfectly but is closely related to web optimization or search, feel free to pitch it anyway!

Our Guidelines

To maintain a high standard of quality for our readers, please keep these guidelines in mind before drafting:

  1. Keep It Yours: We only accept 100% original, unpublished content. Please do not submit articles that are already live elsewhere online.
  2. Focus on Practical Use: Skip the generic definitions. Instead of explaining "what is alt text," show us how to audit alt text at scale. Share code snippets, tools, and screenshots.
  3. Make It Comprehensive: Good guides usually take at least 1,200 words to cover a topic well. We value depth and clarity over fluff, so make sure every sentence counts.
  4. Structure for Scanning: Use clear H2/H3 headers, short paragraphs, and bullet points. Make it easy for developers to skim and find what they need.
  5. Fact-Check Your Claims: If you cite statistics, performance benchmarks, or third-party datasets, link directly to the original source.
  6. Use High-Quality Images: Screenshots, custom diagrams, and graphics are highly encouraged. Please avoid copyrighted images or watermarked stock photos.
  7. Natural Linking Only: You can link back to your personal site in your bio, or once naturally in the article body if it adds real value for the reader. Vague promotional or affiliate links will be removed.
  8. No Plagiarism or Spun Content: Every submission is checked using duplication checkers. We want authentic human experiences, not rewritten articles from other blogs.
  9. Write for People First: Focus on writing clearly and naturally. Do not stuff keywords or write robotically just to satisfy search engines.

What We Do NOT Accept

To save everyone time, we do not accept:

  • Paid link placement requests or sponsored link exchange pitches.
  • Vague, generic articles written solely for the purpose of securing backlinks.
  • AI-generated text or spun drafts with no original insights.
  • Promotions for unrelated niches (such as casino, gambling, crypto, or betting sites).
  • Scraped graphics, stock images, or plagiarized paragraphs.

How to Get Started

We prefer to review pitches first so you don't spend time writing a draft that might not fit our editorial calendar.

  1. Step 1: Pitch Your Ideas: Send us 2–3 brief topic outlines. Tell us what you want to explain, what practical examples you will include, and why it matters to our readers.
  2. Step 2: Tell Us Who You Are: Share a short bio, links to other articles you have written, and a link to your personal blog, website, or portfolio.
  3. Step 3: Await Editorial Review: We read every pitch. We will get back to you in 3 to 5 business days to let you know if your topic is approved.
  4. Step 4: Draft and Publish: Once approved, draft your post in Google Docs or Markdown. Send us the link, and our editors will review it, finalize formatting, and schedule publication.

What Happens Next?

Our team reviews every draft for accuracy, readability, structure, and depth. We may suggest edits or ask you to clarify technical points before we schedule it. Once approved, your guest post goes live on the OneClickSEO blog, complete with your author bio.

Ready to Pitch?

You don't need to have a completed draft ready to reach out. If you have an interesting lesson, experiment, technical process, or case study to share, let's talk!
